2 Sermuncles - President Monson Quotes From April 2017 Conference

President Monson gave two very short talks in conference, the obvious elephant in the room is that President Monson is getting old and does not have the stamina to give long sermons anymore, so he gave two sermuncles instead (a short sermon). Some of the most profound snipets that are still most profound.

From the Saturday Priesthood Session:

"Brethren, we do not honor the priesthood of God if we are not kind to others."

"Brethren, let us examine our lives and determine to follow the Savior’s example by being kind, loving, and charitable. And as we do so, we will be in a better position to call down the powers of heaven for ourselves, for our families, and for our fellow travelers in this sometimes difficult journey back to our heavenly home."

These are profound statements. If we are charitable we are honoring our priesthood, if we are kind we will be able to have the powers of heaven called down in behalf of our families. I know I want that!

From the Sunday Morning Session:

"This morning I speak about the power of the Book of Mormon and the critical need we have as members of this Church to study, ponder, and apply its teachings in our lives. The importance of having a firm and sure testimony of the Book of Mormon cannot be overstated.

"Because the Book of Mormon is true, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s Church on the earth, and the holy priesthood of God has been restored for the benefit and blessing of His children."

If the Book of Mormon is true and you recievd a witness then the church must be true. Again is a profound statement.

President Monson is well loved, our thoughts and prayers go out to him for good health and to be with us as long as the Lord allows.
